The Mice From Outer Space AM

Musical Camp, Ages 8-9, $210 Tuition
Weekdays, June 10-21, 9:00am-Noon
Ticketed Performances: Friday, June 21, 7:00pm and Saturday, June 22, 2:00 p.m.

3 Apprentices & one Jr. Apprentice needed (Apprentices will attend both morning and afternoon camps. They will pay one apprentice fee and receive one t-shirt. They will not stay through the mid-day break unless scheduled ahead of time.)

Young imaginations run wild when the subject is outer space! Imagine a group of space mice comically crashing to earth, meeting strange new friends, and learning a valuable lesson about acceptance. Participants will learn the basics of putting on a musical, including acting on stage, simple stage choreography, basic costuming, stage lighting, and performing for an audience!

Travel to infinity and beyond! Experience aliens, space travel, bad guys, good guys, the moon, lasers, talking planets, and other phenomena that are ‘out of this world’!!! Participants will work on age-appropriate theater skills and the basics of putting on a staged production. There will be small group teaching time and one-on-one acting coaching as well as working with a full cast. This production represents our very best…an ArtsView original from start to finish!

Acting UP with ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’

What kid doesn’t know what the ‘cheese touch’ is? Come ‘act up’ with us as we use the daily life of Greg Heffley and his friends to create short skits for the stage! Participants will learn basic acting skills, character analysis, prop usage, and simple blocking as they work towards a showcase presentation of scenes from the popular book series ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’!

Rock back through the ages with this magical tale of merriment, music, and movement! With a band of lively minstrels as your guide, you’ll explore the wonderful world of dance and music. . . from the bouree to the minuet, from swing to contemporary dance! Participants will learn the basics of putting on a musical along with acting skills, simple stage choreography, basic costuming, stage lighting, and performing for an audience!

Do you fear William Shakespeare? The greatest playwright of the English language may have been in the grave for 400 years, but this summer at Artsview, Will of the World will be alive and well! Join the laughter and fun as you play your way through the Bard’s greatest hits with scenes of monsters, witches, sorcerers, sword-fights, fairies, wrestling matches, lost princesses, mistaken identities, and slapstick comedy. You’ll never fear Shakespeare again!
