Welcome to KYDZ, the radio station that plays the hits while you sing along! Meet disc jockey Marvelous Mike and sidekick Jivin’ Judy as they play the oldies, the goodies, and all the songs kids have loved through the years. From the Depression and WWII, to Elvis, the Beatles, and disco, the radio is where America hears the songs that become the soundtracks of their lives. Participants will learn basic acting skills, singing, choreography, costuming, prop use, lighting, and set. 

***All PATHS events now require a non-refundable fee of $10 for one-day workshops; $25 for classes and mini-camps; $50 for camps.

***If an event you are interested in is full, please call the ArtsView office at 903-236-7535 to have your name placed on a waiting list.

***As part of ArtsView’s child safety policy, clear background checks are required for all ArtsView participants, volunteers, staff, and production team members, ages 18 & up.

The focus of this outreach program is singing, dancing, and entertaining.  Show choir members practice weekly at ArtsView and entertain at various venues throughout the community for the spring semester.

Everyone one will be tapping their feet to these musical numbers as participants perform with simple props such as canes, hats, gloves, and boas! Students will learn basic stage awareness when performing, simple choreography to songs, prop use, singing musical numbers in an ensemble setting, and much more. Come join us!

Participate in the tale of The Tortoise and the Hare set in the 1950’s as a “doo-wop” rock’n’roll style musical! Basic acting skills, introduction to musical theatre terms, singing, movement, backstage work, and performance speaking skills are included.

Community Performances: March 2-6

Be part of a traveling fine arts road troupe! Participants will take a familiar children’s story and make it their own by creating an entire show, including script, actors, set, props, costumes, lighting, etc. The Troupe will be taking their show ‘on the road’ to local schools, child care facilities, nursing homes, and community groups. Design your production from the ground up!

For “First Stage,” ArtsView’s youngest stars! Join us for singing, dancing, acting games, and simple art centered around animals and things you find on a farm. The week ends with a showcase performance for family and friends.

‘Mommy & Me’ Story Time
with Paddington Bear

Wednesday, March 4th at 10:00am

Recommended for ages 2-5

Hear a Paddington adventure story and meet Paddington, too! Shake his paw, take a photo, and ask him about Peru!  Enjoy snacks and create a small craft with the teen cast of A Bear Named Paddington. Be sure to bring your favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal to say hello to Paddington. Please make reservations online.

We invite you to also participate in our Teddy Bear Drive by bringing a new (with tags) bear or stuffed animal to share, too!

Participants will enjoy a week of creative dramatics and music centered around the time period and culture of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.  Activities will include acting games, simple staging, prop usage, folk dancing, music and movement, and simple costuming. Come enjoy some of America’s favorite characters and music!
