College Interns – Summer 2017
Rachel is currently a Psychology major at the University of North Texas. She’s been a part of ArtsView for many years and is very excited to get to work as an intern with the camps and mini camps this summer. Rachel loves all the technical aspects of theatre but her favorite is set design. Rachel has been the scenic designer for the past three spring shows at ArtsView: The Little Mermaid Jr., Anne of Green Gables, and Charlotte’s Web, and will be the scenic designer and artist this summer for Pirates of Penzance Jr. She’s especially excited about the two new Theatre Art Camps she will be an intern for this summer at ArtsView!
Paige has been “Acting Up” at Artsview Children’s Theatre since 2006. Her first role was that of Penny in the summer camp 101 Dalmatians Kids. Since that time she has participated in numerous camps and productions, not only acting in them but also serving as an apprentice. Among her favorite roles are Ursala in The Little Mermaid, JR and also Little Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods, JR. Through Artsview Paige’s love for music and theatre has grown, leading her to pursue a career in Music Education. After graduating from White Oak High School in May 2016, Paige plans on attending Ouachita Baptist University to work on a Bachelor’s of Music Education Degree. She hopes to be able to continue to pursue her love of theatre at OBU also. And with her Music Education degree, she wants to bring the joy and love that she receives from music and theatre to her students.
Brittney just recently graduated from Kilgore College and was a member of Kilgore College Theatre where she performed in Rozencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Almost,Maine. She also worked as crew for Oh the Humanity, Dearly Departed and was an assistant stage manager to Our Town. Brittney is fairly new to the Artsview team and has performed in Cheaters and worked in costumes for Peter Pan, Jr. Brittney is currently attending University of Texas at Tyler as a health studies major and plans to be an Occupational Therapist for children with disabilities. Brittney is very excited to get to work as an intern with the camps and mini camps this summer.
Brenna graduated from White Oak High School in 2015. During her time there, she performed in several plays such as Mullen’s Alley, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Oz, and These Shining Lives, and had the pleasure of playing a Pick-a- Little lady in The Music Man. Brenna is currently attending TCU for her BME in Vocal Music Education. She never had the opportunity to participate in ArtsView when she was in Longview but is very excited to intern this summer.
Chelsea graduated from White Oak High School in 2013, went on to Kilgore College and graduated with her Associates of Arts in Teaching in December 2015. She is currently attending University of Texas at Tyler as an Elementary Education major. She plans on graduating in May 2018. She loves children and is excited to get experience working with them this summer. Chelsea has enjoyed theatre since she was young and likes to see people come together and work on a production. She is looking forward to working with the wonderful teachers and crew members this summer.
Kelsey is finishing up her freshman year at Molloy College/
CAP 21 Conservatory in Long Island, New York where she is pursuing a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. She has had the privilege this past year of working with Broadway actors, voice coaches, and choreographers, and she is excited to bring those experiences
back to ArtsView this summer. Kelsey has been a part of the ArtsView family from its very beginning both onstage and off. Some of her prior roles include Babette (Beauty and the Beast) Chava (Fiddler on the Roof) and the Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland).
She is so excited to be returning this summer as an intern, and is ready to bring the magic of the stage to all of the young aspiring actors/actresses!!
Blaine has been at Artsview since 2008 when, at age 10, he took Acting 101 with Pam Galloway. Blaine loved acting immediately. Since then, he has been in various camps, classes, workshops and productions, ranging from No Fear, Shakespeare to Anne of Green Gables, three Original Works camps, and every Artsview Road/Performance Troupe. Blaine also apprenticed for various camps and classes last year starting with Aladdin Jr. Blaine enjoys all of the aspects of theatre, both on and off-stage, but especially enjoys lighting design and stage combat. He is enrolled in Sunset International Bible Institute, earning his Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies. Upon completion of his preaching degree, Blaine plans to pursue a degree at a public university. He currently teaches Adult and Youth Group classes on an interim basis at his church, and is also the full-time Toddler Bible School teacher. Blaine is very excited to work with so many talented kids, teachers and directors this year as an Artsview intern.
Brittany began her acting career four years ago at Artsview, in their production of The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood as a part of the ensemble. Since then she has been a part of every show she could, some of those roles being: Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Zaneeta in Music Man, and was recently cast as Caitlin in Mockingbird. She plans to attend Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry for the fall and spring semesters, then transfer to their sister school, Bethel Conservatory of the Arts with an Acting Major and Musical Theatre Minor. She is immensely grateful to be one of this years College Interns, and cannot wait to give back to Artsview, everything it has given to her.
Rachel expresses a passion both in theatre and music. She is currently a Theatre Arts major and Music minor at East Texas Baptist University. She fell in love with Artsview five years ago during her first production (Beauty and the Beast Jr.) at the children’s theatre. Since this production she has been privileged to participate in Artsview’s show choir, Encore, as well as act in The Hunchback of Notre Dame Jr., Into the Woods Jr., and Cheaters. Previously she participated in many high school productions and musicals as well of ETBU’s production of Metamorphoses. She is thrilled to work with the fellow interns and children participating in the camps this summer and is enthusiastic to discover where God leads her in the theatre world.
