New to the Longview area, Laura has joined the ArtsView team to aide in the fostering of children's creativity, social skills, and cultivation through dramatic arts. Laura received a double Bachelor's degree in Acting/Directing and Musical Theatre from Southeastern Oklahoma State University where she was the recipient of awards such as "Best Actress In A Play", "Outstanding Technician", and the prestigious "Molly Risso Award".
She has been active in educational and professional theatre nationwide for over a decade and was awarded a membership to The Actor's Equity Association from Plano Reperatory Theatre. Laura has played such roles as: Patsy Cline (Always...Patsy Cline), Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd...), and most recently the role of Cathrine in the Pulizter Prize winning play Proof. Some of Laura's Directing credits include: The Pizza Man, The Wizard of Oz, and Beauty and The Beast. Laura has been a guest Instructor/Director at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado and was the Co-Theatre teacher at Princeton High School (TX) where her student's progressed to Regional and State competitions through ONE ACT Play, Dramatic Interp, and LD Debate.
Laura and her husband, Cody, have a vivacious 2 year old daughter, Gyllian, whom has already become an ArtsView "groupy".
